I think the students and teachers feel like we packed 5 days into 4 days this week. Thanks to all for working so hard! I can tell many persevered and earned tiger tickets for showing their traits. This lucky bunch of 6 won today. Enjoy your transformable fidget spinner over the 4 day weekend! Be safe and get outside each day if you can.

Elementary school counselors promote academic, social-emotional, and career development through classroom lessons, small-group counseling, and individual sessions. They help students manage emotions, resolve conflicts, and build social skills while collaborating with parents and teachers to remove barriers to learning.
School counselors need flexibility in how they approach each student, and they need adaptability in finding the appropriate solution for each student's problems. In addition to active listening skills, school counselors need strong communication skills.
Here at OAK Street, we have the VERY BEST in Ms. Buresh!!!! Happy School Counselors Week!!!!

Spirit Day Fundraiser: Thursday, February 5th
One of our fellow educators in the Goddard Family, Mrs. Patry (a fourth-grade teacher at Explorer Elementary), has recently been diagnosed with cancer and will be beginning treatment immediately.
Mrs. Patry is an incredibly dedicated educator who cares deeply for her students. As part of the close-knit Goddard community, we want to ensure she feels the full support and encouragement of our Oak Street Elementary family during this time.
In the Goddard Family, nobody fights alone. Let’s show Mrs. Patry that her friends at Oak Street are rooting for her every step of the way!

THANK YOU, Goddard Public Schools Maintenance Team!

While most of the community was staying warm inside, this incredible maintenance team was outside doing the hard work that makes a safe return to school possible.

On Sunday, January 25th, and again early Monday morning, January 26th, the USD 265 Facilities, Maintenance & Operations staff were out across the district clearing snow from parking lots, driveways, sidewalks, and entrances, ensuring school buildings are safe and accessible for students, staff, and families.

These moments from Clark Davidson Elementary School, Discovery Intermediate School, and Challenger Intermediate School are a snapshot of the pride, grit, and dedication behind the scenes. Snow storms do not stop this team from showing up, problem solving, and taking care of our schools.

Their work may happen before sunrise and behind the scenes, but its impact is felt by every student and staff member who walks through our doors. Thank you for going above and beyond for our #265Family!

Apparently we planned the perfect cold day to give away soft fleece blankets for the tiger ticket drawing. These were donated by a thoughtful staff member that knew our students would appreciate them. We hope this group keeps warm cuddling up with these over the weekend. Enjoy and congrats to our winners! Stay warm Oak Street Tigers!
