Oak Street Elementary School

Did you know that our teachers enjoy having a bit of fun here at Oak Street? We have a Culture Committee that tries to be creative and bring a smile/treat to the staff to acknowledge their hard work throughout the school days.

We started with a coffee bar on Monday morning this week to celebrate National Coffee Day. It was a delicious treat! We would love to share that we had arranged with the Goddard Starbucks (before they found out about the sad closing) to provide free coffee for the teachers. Even though they closed the weekend before, the manager was so kind and made sure to deliver coffee/creamer from another store. They were definitely looking out for our teachers. We appreciate the thoughtfulness.

We are able to give shout outs to staff members for good things that are witnessed throughout each week. 58 were sent in through September, so we had a drawing for two fun checkered lanyards. Emma Nelson and Hallie Rausch were the winners. Congratulations ladies!

Just a preview of some of our Raffle Baskets available tomorrow night at Oak Street Elementary's annual Family Fun Night. Raffle tickets are $2 each or 3 for $5. This event is open to the public. Baskets will be displayed in the gym. The winners will be drawn at 7:15 and you do not need to be present to win.

Happy Friday! We had a great full week of school. Lots of tiger tickets were earned. This fabulous group won the book "How to Draw 101 Animals" They can learn how to draw both an Oak Street Tiger and a Goddard Lion! Congratulations and enjoy!
