What is the PTO?
The PTO is an organization of parents and teachers committed to enriching the educational and social experience of students and their families. The Oak Street Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) welcomes new and returning Goddard families. We fund enrichment programs and field trips, coordinate family events for the Oak Street community and volunteer to support the school in many different ways.
PTO Mission Statement
The Oak Street Elementary PTO is a Parent Teacher Organization committed to enriching the educational and social experience of Oak Street Elementary School students and their families. The PTO exists to provide volunteer services and to raise funds that support students’ educational efforts and extracurricular activities.
Volunteer efforts range from a wide variety of in-school support services to coordinating Oak Street’s participation in family and community events. Each year an assortment of fund raising programs are offered so that families have choices in how they participate. Funds are used for enrichment programs, field trips, and school pride events as well as for other PTO approved expenses that benefit our school and community.
It is our intention to create a welcoming Oak Street “home” that encourages families to participate in both educational and social events that build pride in our school and in our community.
The PTO Volunteer Opportunities
If you'd like to become more involved, we encourage you to join us! The small group atmosphere of committees makes it easy to get to know other parents as you work together to support the school. There are lots of involvement opportunities with many different levels of time and commitment involved. We have projects that can be done day or night and from home or at the school!
Many thanks to all the PTO members who volunteer to join or chair a committee, sign up to be room parents, and support the PTO throughout the school year.
A monthly school newsletter is distributed to all of our Oak Street Families, which highlight our upcoming events and volunteer opportunities. Information via Skyward is also sent out on an as needed basis.
The best way to stay involved is to attend our monthly PTO meetings. These meetings are normally held the second Tuesday of every month in the Oak Street Elementary cafeteria.
Hope to see you as a volunteer or guest at several of our events!
