Welcome to the Oak Street Elementary Library! I would like to share some information with you about library time at Oak Street Elementary.
Each week I visit with the classroom teachers from each grade to find out what the students are studying. After visiting with the teachers, I design lessons which go along with what the children are learning in the classroom. When students come to the library they will hear stories, do a craft/project, check out books, and learn library skills. One of the main focuses of the library is to get books into the hands of all students and promote literacy.
Reading is the key to everything a child does in school. Ask your child about the books they are checking out and reading from the library. Even better…sit down and read to or with your child. Reading to and with your child is quality time and a memory to be cherished.
I am looking forward to a great year. Please call or stop by the library any time.
